Danny Howell, Director of Maintenance for Dallas Carriers Corporation in Rockwell, Texas conducted a demonstration in which semis were installed bumper-to-bumper with AMSOIL lubricants. AMSOIL 15W-40 Diesel Engine Oil was used in the engines, and AMSOIL Synthetic 85W-140 Gear Lube was installed in the transmissions, rear ends and the power train. Periodic oil analysis determined AMSOIL 15W-40 was serviceable after 200,000 miles and the engines had minimal wear. AMSOIL 85W-140 was als still serviceable in the transmissions after 200,000 miles. Howell reported that both the rear ends and transmissions operated like new with AMSOIL 85W-140.

Dan Clements of Delaware services and repairs over-the-road trucks, some using AMSOIL, others using non-synthetics. "Trucks with AMSOIL have the oil changed at 50,000 miles, with filter changes at 10,000 miles. Trucks using non-synthetic have the oil changed at 10,000 miles. Oil analysis is done on each truck at each oil change. The trucks using AMSOIL consistently show lower wear metals, despite the fact that the oil is in service five times longer than the no-synthetics. I have never had a 50,000 mile analysis of AMSOIL that was negative. The results leave no room for doubt."

Wear Control -
