Dear
AMSOIL,
Just a quick note to tell you how your AMSOIL
Series 2000 20W-50 Racing Oil is working
in my drag boat.
In 1989, I was racing a 1500 horsepower,
495 cubic inch, blown Chevrolet motor in
my drag boat. I had been using another manufacturer's
20W-50 racing oil. By switching to the AMSOIL
20W-50 Racing Oil, I immediately cut off
an additional 0.2 seconds from my elapsed
time. This was a consistent 0.2 seconds
decrease.
In late 1994, after a serious crash, I purchased
another boat with a blown 565 cubic inch
Aries Hemi, burning methanol for fuel. I
continued to use the AMSOIL Synthetic Racing
Oil.
Today, this boat is capable of running 200
MPH in 6.00 seconds over the quarter mile.
June 2000 I filled the motor with AMSOIL
Series 2000 20W-50 Racing Oil. I am still
using the same oil this year. I check the
screen in the Osberg oil filter after qualifying
each weekend. Without any metal residue
onscreen, I merely clean and reinstall the
screen in the filter assembly. About every
5 weekends, I will drain the oil and let
the alcohol evaporate, and then run it through
a bypass filter before I reinstall it back
onto the motor.
Because of the AMSOIL Synthetic Racing Oil,
I have not had a lubrication-related engine
failure since 1989. This is remarkable,
considering this Aries Blown Alcohol Hemi
motor is capable of producing 3,000 horsepower.
With the help of your superior protection,
this boat has been Central States Drag Boat
Association High Point champion for the last
6 years and National Drag Boat Association
High Point Champion in 1999.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Jim Richards
